ANDREW DOBOS
Maryland-native Andrew Dobos (b. 1991) is a percussionist, composer and educator, currently living in Austin, TX. Andrew has performed both internationally and locally as an ensemble member and soloist, with notable performances at The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, The Long Center, Moody Center, and ACL Live. Andrew is a founding member of The Kraken Quartet, an Austin-based percussion group that blends rock and electronics. Their debut LP Separate | Migrate, and EP Backdrop were met with critical acclaim, with a third release slated for 2027.
Andrew is the founder of Modded Marimba, a video series dedicated to performances and improvisations using an electric marimba with guitar pedals, with recent performances at Classic Game Fest 2026 and MAGFest 2025. Andrew has performed alongside Andrea Bocelli, Katharine McPhee, Dirty Projectors, Sō Percussion, and El Ten Eleven, and recently performed with the Stardew Valley Symphony of Seasons, and on the Death Stranding Strands of Harmony World Tour. Andrew is the house drummer at ConcertDome, a 360-degree immersive performance venue in Northeast Austin.
As an educator, Andrew is the Director of Percussion at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, Co-Director of the Austin Percussion Festival, and former Assistant Director of the Austin Samba School.
