CHAMPS Program at a glance

The CHAMPS Education Program offered intermediate and advanced chamber music instruction and exciting performance opportunities to string players and pianists ages 12-18. Through the learning of the chamber music repertoire, CHAMPS students developed their technical skills, grew and enhanced their musical understanding and communication, and learned the art of collaboration. Working in small ensembles assists with the development of listening skills, expression, artistry, leadership, social skills and helps sharpen stage presence and performing experience.

CHAMPS academy

Outside of school accelerated chamber music study. Have you fallen in love with chamber music and want to go further? Do you want to play with students from other schools? Does forming a dedicated string quartet sound like a blast? Then the CHAMPS Academy is for you!

Once groups were formed, those groups were matched with a coach to determine a schedule. Students rehearsed together outside of coachings and got the chance to move at a faster pace while learning more repertoire. Only well matched groups would be formed. Playing level, personality compatibility, grade level and location determined group formation.
