How to Collaborate

This tutorial is meant as a walk-through for collaborators after a project has been shared with them.  If you want to know how to share a project, that tutorial is here.

  1. Once a project has been shared with you, go to www.cyborgllama.info;

  2. Go to ‘Setup’ and set up and calibrate your hardware

    1. Setup help: text, video

  3. Click your project’s name;

  4. On the “Select Group” page, mouse over your group name and open to the “mode” your project creator has told you to work in;

  1. Click the red “record” dot within the video window of the instrumental or vocal part you are meant to record;

    1. The screen will say “Get Ready”;

    2. There will be a “count-in” of 1 measure in the meter of the piece;

    3. Perform your part;

    4. CL will automatically stop recording when the piece ends;

  2. After recording, you can press “Play” to listen back to your take;

  3. If you like it, press “Click to Save”;

  4. If you want to redo it, press the red “record” dot again;

  5. That’s it.

NOTES:

  1. Volume not right? Adjust the volume slider on your part’s video window.  Click “Click to Save” to save the setting.

  2. Your recording didn’t quite sync up?  Adjust the “Nudge” slider on your part’s video window.  Click “Click to Save” to save the setting.

  3. Metronome bugging you?  Adjust the metronome volume by moving the volume slider in the upper right hand corner on top of the metronome watermark.

  4. If you are in “Practice Mode”, no recordings save.  It is for practice only.

    1. Practice Mode help: text, video

  5. If you are in “Individual Mode”, you will click “Click to Save”, and, after the page reloads, click “Get Assignment Link” and send that link to your teacher.

  6. Be careful to not record in “Reference Mode” unless you’re sure your project creator wants you to.  Recordings saved in “Reference Mode” will save to ALL modes (and all Groups); if you record there when you’re not supposed to, you may be accidentally overwriting recordings.  This will be a big pain for your project creator who will need to go back and fix the project.
